The Moon Cakes are not to be confused with the Moon Cake (or Mooncake Cake), among the typical Chinese sweets filled with beans.Today we are talking about a delicious, soft and very soft snack , perfect to eat in the afternoon or at breakfast. Both children and adults will love it! It is prepared with a soft chocolate cake dough , made up of simple ingredients such as flour, eggs, sugar, butter, cocoa andyeast The Classico Vanigliato di Decorì , to flavor and to make it grow well and make it so soft.
The Mooncakes contain a heart of Nutella and have a hemisphere shape with a delicious dome, like the Camille , which are decorated with Decorì sugar stars to recall the Pan di stelle . In this way, the chocolate tartlets will be even prettier to present and so delicious to eat.

Mooncake: recipe and preparation
150 g flour 00 ( Magic Flours ) 120 g sugar 100 g whole milk 80 g butter ( soft )
40 g unsweetened cocoa powder 8 g baking powder for cakes ( Il Classico Vanigliato Decorì )
2 eggs ( medium ) 1 pinch of salt
How to make mooncakes
To make the Mooncakes, you will need a silicone hemisphere mold. I have THIS 8cm, but THIS from another brand is fine too . You can also use the single-portion aluminum half-sphere molds . Alternatively, you will have to use the muffin cups : the taste will be the same, but the effect completely different.
Take the butter out of the fridge 1 hour before preparation , so that it becomes soft .
Also prepare the Nutella heart : take a plate, line it with parchment paper and form 10 piles of hazelnut cream , dosing about half a teaspoon (10 grams) each. 8 piles were enough for me, but make a few more: if you have a smaller mold you will surely get more chocolate cakes. in the freezer for at least 1 hour .

After the time has elapsed, we prepare the dough for the chocolate cakes .
Heat the milk to cool it and turn on the static oven at 180 ° C
Put the soft butter in pieces in the planetary mixer and work it into a cream using the K whisk or leaf . Add the sugar and work for a few more minutes.
Add 1 egg at a time , waiting for it to be absorbed by the dough and a pinch of salt .
When the egg is no longer visible, add the Dolci Soffici flour Le Farine Magiche sifted with the cocoa and the yeast the Classico Vanigliato Decor ì, alternating the powders with the warm milk .

If you don’t have a planetary mixer, you can also use the electric whisk , working the ingredients in the same order.

Lightly grease the silicone half-sphere mold (if you use the aluminum ones, you will have to grease and flour) and place a few spoonfuls of dough inside .
In the center, insert a pile of frozen Nutella and cover with a little more dough . The passage in the freezer is mainly used to have the filling in the center and to be more comfortable in creating the heart of cream.

Continue like this until all 8 Mooncakes are formed . You will have to fill the mold leaving at least 1 cm from the edge , to prevent the dough from coming out. Bake the Mooncakes in the preheated static oven at 180 ° C for 20 minutes .
Cover the chocolate cakes
Once ready, remove the mold and cover (when hot) with plastic wrap . In this way, if the surface was slightly rounded, it will magically return to flat , and the humidity that will remain inside will also guarantee you very soft chocolate cakes.
After a few minutes, remove the cakes from the mold and place on a serving dish. Decorate with a zigzag of Nutella lightly soaked for 30 seconds in the microwave , using a small pastry bag or a fork or a paper cone.
